The proposal to end the 6x1 work schedule was approved in the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Senate. The project, which provides for the reduction of the weekly workload, went on for consideration by the Chamber's plenary.
Now, the proposal will be voted on in two rounds in the Senate, but the date for this vote has not yet been defined by the House's leaders.
The measure is considered one of the main flags of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's reelection campaign, as he attempts to be reelected. The topic has gained relevance among workers and public managers, generating debates about the economic and social impacts of the change in the workday.
