The Portuguese Government formalized a 10 million euro support destined for the victims of the fires that occurred in the municipalities of Vouzela and Valpaços. This measure comes as a response to the devastating consequences of these fires for the populations and territories affected.
According to the information provided, agricultural holdings whose damage caused by the fires exceeds 30% of productive potential are considered eligible to receive this support. This condition aims to direct the available resources to the cases of greater severity and need.
In parallel, the Executive officially recognized the fires that affected the North and Central regions of the country as natural disasters. This designation allows for the activation of support and reconstruction mechanisms foreseen for emergency situations.
The announced measures represent a set of responses from the Portuguese State to address the damages caused by the fires, covering both the agricultural component as well as the formal recognition of the extent of the damages in the most affected regions.
