Bar Association Criticizes Delay in Elevador da Glória Case

RTP Notícias3 September 2026 at 13:20

The Bar Association has expressed public criticism regarding the slowness of the judicial process related to the Elevador da Glória accident. The president of the Bar Association considered that it makes no sense for the investigation into the accident to take so long, without concrete results having been presented.

The Elevador da Glória is one of the main public transportation means in Lisbon, connecting the lower city to the upper part. The accident in question has called into question the safety of this equipment and raised concerns about the conditions under which it operates.

The position of the Bar Association comes at a time when questions persist about responsibility for the accident and about the safety measures implemented. The president thus reinforces the need for a faster resolution of the case.
