The Câmara de Paredes de Coura decided to restart the elaboration of the detail plan that provides for the construction of a new business reception area in the towns of Linhares and Ferreira. The notice was published in the Official Gazette and states that the need to create this industrial zone responds to the strategic interest of the municipality.
The elaboration of the project was initiated in 2023, but ended up expiring because it financially depended on community funding through the Norte Regional Programme 2030. With the publication of the new notice NORTE2030-2026-01, which provides for ERDF co-financing of up to 1.5 million euros for infrastructure supporting competitiveness, the conditions were met to continue the process.
The decision was taken unanimously by the municipal executive of Paredes de Coura in August, taking advantage of the acts already practiced in the 2023 document, including terms of reference, opinions of the entities and strategic environmental assessment. The deadline set for the conclusion of the procedure is six months.
