The scarcity of high-quality offices is increasing in Lisbon and pushing rents up. According to the Cushman & Wakefield's European Office Update report, prime rents in the Portuguese capital rose 10.3% in the 12 months ended in June.
Lisbon thus registers one of the biggest rent increases among the main European markets. The growth trend reflects the growing demand for quality office space, in a context where the available supply cannot keep up with market needs.
The phenomenon is not exclusive to Lisbon, as the scarcity of top-tier offices is affecting several European markets, causing pressure on rent values in several cities across the continent.
