A 68-year-old woman was reported missing on Wednesday at 5:30 PM from the care home where she lived in Rubiães, in the municipality of Paredes de Coura. The alert was given by the woman's informal caregiver to the District Command of the GNR in Viana do Castelo.
According to a GNR source, the woman suffers from mental problems related to Alzheimer's disease.
The search began on Wednesday with the aid of a drone and resumed on Thursday, around 7:00 AM, with the use of dogs.
The search operations involve 10 personnel and four vehicles from the Volunteer Firefighters of Paredes de Coura and the GNR.
