Vorcaro says that the collaboration deal rejected by the Federal Police and the Attorney General's Office affects people at the core of the government

Banker Daniel Vorcaro stated that the collaboration proposal he wanted to make, which was rejected by the Federal Police and the Attorney General's Office, targets people in the core of the current government. The statements were given in testimony to the office of Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court, last week.

The hearing took place under judicial secrecy, after the defense claimed Vorcaro had been suffering threats and intimidation in prison and feared for his own safety. The Federal Police did not attend the testimony, with only a representative of the Public Ministry present.

Vorcaro stated that, since he was arrested, he was predisposed to speak and sought out authorities to collaborate and bring the truth, because he believed the facts were being distorted. According to him, he always had an interest in exposing the reality of the events.

The banker claims he has been prevented from doing so from the beginning, being threatened and intimidated, and fears for his own life and that of his family. He says he sees no chance of this being resolved.

Miguel Sousa Tavares: "Do most Portuguese want to topple the government because Luís Montenegro didn't declare the car that his father-in-law gave to his wife?"

Miguel Sousa Tavares comments on the motion of censure presented by Chega against the Government, related to the controversy around the car offered by the father-in-law to the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Montenegro. The commentator considers that the majority of Portuguese want to topple the government for reasons that have nothing to do with this specific issue, emphasizing that he continues to see no reasons for the minister's resignation given what has been made public, and accusing Ventura of being "obsessed" with this issue.

Hungary maintains automatic asylum for Ukrainians of military age contradicting the European Union

Hungary announced it will continue to offer automatic asylum to Ukrainian men of military age (25 to 60 years), contradicting a European Union decision from July. Prime Minister Péter Magyar justified the measure by the presence of ethnic Hungarians in the Transcarpathia region in Ukraine, who flee to Hungary. The EU had decided on Ukraine's defensive needs, but Budapest maintains its differentiated reception position.
