Woman disappears from shelter home in Paredes de Coura

A 68-year-old woman was reported missing on Wednesday at 18:30 from the shelter home where she lived in Rubiães, in the municipality of Paredes de Coura. The alert was given by the woman's informal caregiver to the District Command of the GNR in Viana do Castelo.

The woman suffers from mental health issues related to Alzheimer's disease, according to a source from the GNR contacted by the Lus news agency.

The search operations began on Wednesday with the aid of a drone and resumed this Thursday around 07:00, this time with the use of dogs. The operations involve 10 operatives and four vehicles from the Paredes de Coura Volunteer Firefighters and the GNR.
