Uber fires 10% of workers and buys Glovo's parent company for over 12 billion euros

Uber announced on Wednesday that it will reduce its global workforce by 10%, eliminating approximately 3,300 positions, as part of a company restructuring. The measure comes in the context of changing the company's structure, given its current size.

Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, sent an internal message to the company's workers explaining the decision. "This was not a decision we made lightly, because it will have a concrete impact on our team colleagues and friends," Khosrowshahi said, according to the message posted on Uber's website.

At the same time, Uber is moving forward with the acquisition of Glovo's parent company for over 12 billion euros. Glovo received a recommendation to accept the multi-million euro proposal from the American company, in a deal that represents a significant milestone in the delivery platforms sector.

Euro zone debt interest eases on the seventh day
