An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale was felt on the island of Pico. The earthquake occurred and was detected by the seismographic network.

The epicenter of the seismic tremor was verified approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Capelo, which is located on the neighboring island of Faial, in the Azores archipelago.

The seismological event caused no material damage or casualties, having been classified as a moderate intensity earthquake.
