UA and Egas Moniz Academic Clinical Center welcome students

The University of Aveiro (UA) and the Egas Moniz Academic Clinical Center will welcome the new students of the Integrated Master in Medicine.

The reception for the new students is scheduled for the 7th, at 11 am.

The event will take place at the Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Aveiro.

This initiative aims to welcome the students who are beginning their journey in the Medicine course at this institution.

The species is classified as in danger of extinction by ICMBio, with habitat restricted mainly to the state of Amazonas, threatened by deforestation and urban expansion. Both monkeys will have the mission of contributing to the conservation of one of the most threatened species on the planet, with Paçoca going through a quarantine period before being integrated into Amendoim's environment.

Parasites found in 96% of tuna analyzed in Brazilian study

Researchers from the Federal University of Santa Catarina found parasites in 96% of the 53 specimens of skipjack tuna (a type of tuna) analyzed, with 58.5% of cases having the organisms present in muscle tissue, the edible part of the fish. Among the parasites identified was Anisakis, associated with infections and allergic reactions in humans. The study, published in the journal Ocean and Coastal Research, highlights the importance of sanitary inspection of fishery products. The specimens were captured in various locations, including the Rio de la Plata region.
