The mansion pointed out as the most expensive in Brazil began to be demolished this Thursday at Jardim Pernambuco, a neighborhood in Leblon, in Rio de Janeiro. The property, announced for R$ 220 million, will be completely dismantled over the next three months to make way for a new luxury real estate development.
On the 11.5 thousand square meter lot, the Estância Pernambuco condominium will be built, a mini-condominium composed of ten ultra-luxury houses. Each lot will cost starting at R$ 19 million. The residences will be custom-made for buyers, with designs signed by architect Thiago Bernardes, responsible for the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR).
The demolition is being carried out by developer Mozak, the developer of the new enterprise. Part of the mansion has already been dismantled and pieces such as window frames were auctioned before the official start of demolition. The architectural project of the new houses bears Bernardes's signature, who also has experience in expansion work at the Instituto Nacional de Traumatologia e Ortopedia (Into).
