Telmo Afonso is president of the Union of Parishes of Sé, Santa Maria and Meixedo, in the district of Bragança. This year, he was re-elected to lead the District Delegation of ANAFRE, the National Association of Parishes.

In the speech he made after taking office, Telmo Afonso warned about inequalities in parish funding. He argued that it is not acceptable that parishes with identical characteristics receive very different financial support.

The president of the District ANAFRE of Bragança emphasized the need to guarantee more equitable conditions for all parishes, regardless of their location or size. This concern reflects the challenges faced by many local authorities in managing their resources.
