A 43-year-old Dutch sperm donor, identified only as Simon, publicly admitted to having fathered 199 children in different countries across Europe. The man acknowledged that he systematically lied to families about the number of donations he had made over the years.
Simon also used different names to hide the true extent of his activity as a sperm donor. The revelation was made by the Dutch man himself in a message sent on Saturday to a chat group that brought together more than 35 parents of children conceived with his sperm.
According to the Dutch program "Nieuwsuur," which had access to the text, Simon acknowledged that families received "incomplete or distorted" information. In his defense, the donor stated that he believed he was doing the right thing and helping people, saying that the recognition and happiness of the families were his only motivation.
