Portugal, the Netherlands, and Switzerland are identified in a study as "systematically unaffordable" countries for medium-income housing buyers. The report analyzes housing affordability in Europe and warns that this situation persists consistently in these three countries for those earning an average salary.
The study also warns that Eastern European countries, such as Poland and Hungary, are becoming progressively more expensive and approaching Western European price standards. This trend represents a significant shift in the European real estate market.
The analysis highlights that housing in Portugal remains consistently unaffordable for buyers with medium incomes, making it part of a restricted group of European countries where property ownership is particularly difficult.
