oglobo3 September 2026 at 07:31

The releases for the week of September 3 to 9 include "My Best Friend," a new comedy with Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, who share the screen for the first time in a film. Also arriving in theaters is "Pressure," a historical drama with Andrew Scott and Brendan Fraser about the planning for D-Day, in addition to the Korean dramedy "My Daughter is a Zombie."

Another release is "The Great Arch of Paris," which tells a true story about a monument. The documentary "Gonzaguinha, the Greatest Freedom," directed by Susanna Lira, also joins the week's releases, shedding light on the political vision, sharp wit, and nonconformist stance of Luiz Gonzaga do Nascimento Júnior, known as Gonzaguinha.

Cinema Week is back with tickets at R$ 10 in September. Among the featured interviews is one with Luisa Arraes, who stars in Jorge Furtado's new comedy, "Much Pleasure," stating that "love is something that hits you."

What the mystery of the painting where Junot wasn't, after all, tells us about Lisbon

The Museu de Lisboa, at the Palácio Pimenta, presents the exhibition "3 views of Lisbon", where a painting supposedly titled "Junot reviewing troops at Rossio" revealed a mystery: although it depicts Rossio in Lisbon around 1800, the French General Junot, announced as the protagonist, does not appear in the canvas. This discovery became a starting point to explore the history of the square, the French invasions, the departure of the royal family to Brazil, and the work of artist Luís António Xavier, who documented this period. The exhibition, which will be open until September 27, invites visitors on a journey through Lisbon's past, revealing architectural, social and cultural details that transform a simple museum visit into a historical discovery experience.
