Festival F is back for its 11th edition, which started this Thursday in the historic center. The event celebrates Portuguese music over three days of intense programming.

Fruit Festival returns this weekend with musical entertainment and fruit sales

The Fruit Festival returns to Cela between tomorrow and Sunday, maintaining the parish tradition with fruit exhibition and sales, handicrafts and traditional products. The highlight goes to the new musical lineup with artists such as Banda Samuel & Friends, Carolina Ligeiro and Maria Rey, as well as performances by folk dance groups and the 5th Tractor Ride. António Maria da Silva wins for the first time the Espanta Festival

António Maria da Silva won for the first time the Espanta Festival, a scarecrow competition held during the annual festival of Valado de Santa Quitéria, scoring 108 points with a scarecrow representing a worker with broom and shovel. Second place went to Daniel Guilherme (106 points) and third to Joaquim Maria da Silva (105 points). 22 scarecrows participated, evaluated by an independent jury. António Maria da Silva has been participating in the festival since 2017. The Espanta Festival was born from the desire to remember the traditions of past generations who used scarecrows to drive birds away from fields, gardens and fruit trees.
