The Volta packaging return system offers different delivery options, depending on the quantity and type of establishment. The automatic machines, installed in supermarkets and hypermarkets, receive each package individually, but with no limit on quantity per visit. The manual Volta Points, found in small shops, markets and cafés, work with direct validation by the merchant, who returns the value in cash. The Volta Kiosks are the recommended solution for those wishing to return large volumes at once, including individuals, associations and restaurants.
The Kiosks can process approximately 120 packages per minute and allow bottles and cans to be delivered together, without needing to insert them one by one. They are available in Albufeira, Barcelos, Cascais, Funchal, Ponta Delgada and Vila Nova de Famalicão, with hours that should be confirmed before visiting. The network plans to install 50 kiosks in 38 municipalities, progressively.
The reimbursement of the 10 cents deposited for each package can be made in several ways: a voucher convertible to cash, a shopping voucher, a discount, a loyalty card, a donation or a digital solution. In supermarkets, the voucher can be exchanged for cash, without needing to spend it in the establishment. At kiosks, the amount can be received through the App volta€ or donated to a social institution.
The official application allows you to verify if a package belongs to the system through the barcode and locate the nearest collection point. To be accepted, the packaging must have the Volta symbol, be empty, intact and complete, with the lid in the case of bottles. Crushed, incomplete or with an illegible barcode packages are rejected and the deposit is not recovered.
