Chega already delivered motion of censure against Government in parliament

Now2 September 2026 at 23:27

The Chega party delivered a motion of censure against the Government in parliament. The announcement was made by the party president, André Ventura, during a press conference held this afternoon.

André Ventura believes that Luís Neves no longer has the suitability to continue as minister of internal administration. The Chega leader bases the decision to proceed with the motion of censure on this position.

The motion was formally submitted to the assembly, now starting the parliamentary process provided for this type of initiative. The party positions itself as an opposition force to the Executive through this constitutional instrument.
