The presidential candidate for Avante, Augusto Cury, celebrated the results of the new Quaest poll that places him in third place in voting intentions, with 10%. The candidate highlighted the growth of his candidacy and stated that neither Barack Obama nor Jair Bolsonaro would have recorded such a rapid shift in the polls. Cury attributed the advance to a spontaneous movement of voters who defend the pacification of the country and highlighted his performance in the Northeast.
Cury also commented on the statement by Renan Santos, from Missão, who called him a "puff pastry" after his rise in the polls. The candidate did not specify his response to this criticism, but continues to gain ground in voting intentions.
The candidate also commented on the Federal Police investigation that pointed to relationships between businessman Daniel Vorcaro and Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court. Cury stated that there would be no shielding of authorities in an eventual government of his and defended that Moraes should explain himself about the suspicions pointed out by the investigation.
Cury added that, if errors are proven that justify the removal of the justice, Moraes should have the "dignity" to resign from the position.
