A phone number used as contact for Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes appears linked to digital accounts on platforms such as TikTok and other cell phone apps, according to a BBC investigation. The number was identified in a Federal Police (PF) report as being Moraes's.
On TikTok, this same number is associated with a profile identified as "Xandao." The BBC reported having found the connection between the number and the digital accounts after analyzing information present in the PF report.
The Federal Police report that mentions Moraes's number is part of an inquiry into alleged digital militias. The BBC's investigation was able to link the number to profiles on different platforms using search tools for accounts associated with phone numbers.
The case generates controversy about how personal data of authorities can appear in police reports and be used to create accounts on social media. The connection between the official number of an STF justice and profiles on apps raises questions about security and misuse of personal information.
