The Municipalities of Nelas, Fornos de Algodres, Gouveia and Mangualde presented on September 2nd, in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall of Nelas, the tourism project "Expresso do Alto Mondego". This initiative was publicly revealed at a ceremony that featured the presence of representatives from the four municipalities involved.
The project has as its main objective to enhance the territory of the Alto Mondego region through the creation of a sustainable tourist experience. For this, the "Expresso do Alto Mondego" aims to explore and connect various elements: the existing railway infrastructure, local heritage, regional culture, the nature of the region and local products.
The initiative comes in a context of appreciation of the country's interior and promotion of sustainable tourism. By associating the railway theme with a tourist experience, the project seeks to differentiate itself from other offers, providing visitors with a unique way to discover the Alto Mondego region.
