Greenland and Denmark warned the European Parliament that the era of "taking a country" is over, in a clear message directed at Donald Trump. The Danish autonomous territory has been the target of statements from the American President, who has repeatedly expressed the United States' interest in the region.

Greenland and Denmark created a group of senior officials with the United States to work on resolving the current situation. This joint group aims to find a way to address American claims regarding the Arctic territory.

The Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, had previously rejected any possibility of selling Greenland to the United States, reinforcing the position that the territory is not available for negotiation.
