The Public Prosecution expects the investigation into the derailment of the Glória funicular, in Lisbon, to be concluded in 2027. The case is being investigated by the Lisbon Directorate of the PJ.
The investigation is still awaiting the completion of technical tests scheduled for the month of November. These tests are considered fundamental for the advancement of the process.
The results of these technical tests are expected to coincide with the issuance of the final report by GPIAAF, the Bureau for the Prevention and Investigation of Accidents with Aircraft and Railway Accidents.
The derailment of the Glória funicular occurred on October 3rd, resulting in two dead and several injured. The funicular connected Baixa and Bairro Alto, two of the main neighborhoods of the Portuguese capital.
