Mendonça says Vorcaro's testimony at his office was motivated by report of 'serious intimidations'

oglobo2 September 2026 at 18:11

Supreme Court (STF) Minister André Mendonça confirmed that banker Daniel Vorcaro provided testimony to his office last week. The hearing was requested by the banker's defense, which alleged he was suffering "serious intimidations," according to a statement released on Wednesday.

The testimony was collected by an auxiliary judge from Mendonça's office, with the presence of a representative from the Federal Public Ministry. The Federal Police did not participate in the diligences, as pointed out by columnist Bela Megale.

Mendonça's office clarified that the content of the hearing is protected by legal secrecy. The note also stated that the information claiming that topics related to Minister Alexandre de Moraes had been addressed during the hearing is not true. The case in question investigates alleged frauds by Banco Master.

Haddad does not comment on Lula's silence in the Master case, but defends lifting Dark Horse's secrecy

Presidential candidate Fernando Haddad (PT), on a campaign stop in Santos (SP), was questioned about President Lula's silence in the case involving Banco Master and the so-called "Dark Horse scandal," but did not comment directly. Without answering the question about Lula, Haddad defended breaking the secrecy of all processes without selectivity, including the case of Flavinho Bolsonaro and that of Daniel Vorcaro himself, one of those involved in the scandal. The PT candidate criticized the fact that only some are publicly exposed while others remain under secrecy, noting that Lula is the only presidential candidate who has not yet spoken out about the case. The article also mentions that Flavinho Bolsonaro again requested Moraes' impeachment, while Fachin opened a session at the STF without mentioning the crisis involving Alexandre de Moraes and Vorcaro.
