European right demonstrates in solidarity with Ceuta

Observador2 September 2026 at 18:17

European right-wing and far-right parties gathered in front of the European Parliament to show solidarity with Ceuta in the face of the migration crisis that affected the Spanish enclave in northern Africa. The parties demonstrated together to demand a European response to the situation.

During the demonstration, the parties blamed the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), for how the migration crisis in Ceuta was managed. Political tension surrounding the issue has been high since the events.

Ceuta, a Spanish enclave located on the north African coast, has frequently been the scene of irregular migration entry attempts, being one of the external borders of the European Union. The recent crisis placed pressure on relations between Spain and the rest of Europe.

The demonstration in front of the European Parliament reflects the growing importance of the migration issue in European politics and the attempt by right-wing parties to use the situation in Ceuta as a political argument against the migration policies of the Spanish government led by the socialists.

Bolsonaro's Son Defends Mendonça After Revelation of Meeting With Vorcaro Before Taking on Master Case and Renews Criticism of Moraes

Presidential candidate Bolsonaro's son defended Justice Minister André Mendonça after the revelation that he met with Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master, before taking on the rapporteurship of investigations into the financial institution at the Supreme Court. On a campaign stop in Rio Grande do Sul, Bolsonaro's son classified the criticism as a "smoke screen" and attempted to differentiate Mendonça's conduct from what he called the actions of Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes, stating that the meeting was registered on the official schedule and occurred when Mendonça was not yet the rapporteur of the case, making it therefore something "totally professional." Mendonça admitted to having met with Vorcaro in March 2025, almost a year before taking on the rapporteurship.
