The Municipality of Sines decided to restart the review procedure for the Urbanisation Plan of the Industrial and Logistics Zone of Sines (PUZILS), setting a 24-month deadline for the preparation of the new version of the planning instrument. The decision was made public through a notice published on 1 September in the Official Gazette, resulting from a deliberation by the municipal executive.
The Urbanisation Plan establishes the rules for the organisation and occupation of the area covered by the Industrial and Logistics Zone, constituting a relevant instrument for the planning of this territory. The review will allow for a reassessment of the existing territorial framework and its adaptation to the needs identified by the municipality.
The local authority justifies the decision with the need to adapt the Urbanisation Plan to the new economic and logistical development dynamics of the territory. The Industrial and Logistics Zone plays a central role in the economic activity of the municipality of Sines and in the organisation of an area where different industrial, business and infrastructural uses coexist.
The decision now published does not yet correspond to the approval of a new Urbanisation Plan, being merely the restart of the procedure intended for its review. The process will have a two-year horizon to be developed before the conclusion of the new version of the planning instrument.
