The Federal Supreme Court (STF) must shield Minister Alexandre de Moraes from investigations related to the Master scandal, according to expert assessment. The Court tends to prevent any advancement in the investigation into the minister from occurring within the institution itself.
Professor Ivar Hartmann, a doctor of Law and associate professor at Insper, was the one who made this analysis. According to him, the characteristic corporatism of the STF acts as a barrier for any internal investigation involving its own ministers.
Hartmann stated that he has never seen Supreme Court ministers lose anything in any scenario, indicating the difficulty of accountability within the Court. This assessment reinforces the perception that investigations against members of the tribunal face significant institutional obstacles.
The Master scandal involves controversies related to Minister Moraes, but, according to the specialist's analysis, the structure and internal dynamics of the STF must prevent the advancement of any formal investigation into the case within the Court itself.
