SEMPRE por todos warns of CATAA degradation and demands urgent intervention

More than six months after the passage of storm Kristin, the CATAA – Centro de Apoio Tecnológico Agro-Alimentar building, based in Castelo Branco, remains completely deactivated with no recovery works having been initiated.

The coalition SEMPRE por Todos, which brings together PSD and CDS-PP, publicly warned about the worsening state of degradation of the infrastructure and considered the absence of a response from the responsible entities incomprehensible.

CATAA was a technological support center aimed at the agri-food sector, providing services to the local and regional community. Its inoperability represents a loss of resources for farmers and businesses in the sector in the Castelo Branco region.

Storm Kristin, which hit the region more than six months ago, caused significant damage to the building, but to date no rehabilitation interventions have been announced or planned, leaving the infrastructure in a situation of progressive abandonment.
