Physician from São João Hospital Appointed to European Allergy Leadership

André Moreira, director of the Immunoallergy Service at ULS São João, has been appointed Vice-President for Congresses of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), for the term 2026–2028. This appointment places the Portuguese physician on the board of one of the main international scientific organizations dedicated to Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

Among his duties will be the coordination of the EAACI Annual Congress and the various thematic meetings promoted by the Academy, contributing to the definition and promotion of the organization's international scientific agenda.

The appointment of André Moreira represents recognition of his clinical, scientific, and academic career and also reinforces the presence of ULS São João in the international landscape of the specialty. With this appointment, the director of the Immunoallergy Service now assumes a European-level responsibility in organizing the main scientific meetings in the field.
