Alto Minho will implement urgent firebreaks as a fire defense measure. The defense network will occupy 91 land parcels in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez. In the municipality of Monção, the measure will cover the parish of Merufe and the Union of Parishes of Anhões and Luzio. The firebreaks aim to create physical barriers to limit the spread of forest fires in the region.
