The old Saint Dominic convent in Sant Mateu was opened to tourism after a deep rehabilitation. This intervention represents one of the most important heritage recovery actions in the region.
The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, visited Sant Mateu on Tuesday to see firsthand the result of the restoration works of this heritage complex. The minister had the opportunity to personally verify the quality of the work carried out.
The rehabilitation of the convent had an investment of 2,965,710 euros, coming from the state program for Improving Competitiveness and Dynamization of Historical Heritage with Tourist Use. This funding allowed the recovery of one of the most significant heritage complexes in the region.
