Oil prices have been in almost constant volatility due to the military escalation between the United States and Iran, which has been shaking energy markets. Fuels have been marking high prices almost constantly in recent months, especially in the case of diesel, which has been more affected by the increases.
The Spanish Government adopted extraordinary measures to mitigate the impact of these increases on consumers. These discount measures have been partially alleviating the pressure on fuel prices.
For the first time since the beginning of the war in the Middle East, diesel became cheaper than gasoline. This reversal in the usual price relationship between the two fuels represents a significant change in the market.
The discounts implemented by the Executive have provided some relief to consumers, but have not managed to completely stop the upward trend in fuel prices that has been observed in recent months.
