The Águeda City Council formalized the attribution of financial support of 210 thousand euros for the execution of the works of requalification and enlargement of the nautical hangar of ARCOR – Recreational and Cultural Association of Óis da Ribeira. The intervention should take place until the end of next year.
The subsidy results from an application submitted in May this year by the association, which needed to address the increase in the number of practitioners, athletes, members and users. The objective is to respond to the sustained growth of ARCOR's activity, providing the space with better conditions for sporting practice, training and development of nautical modalities.
Among the objectives of the work are the improvement of storage and conservation conditions for the vessels, as well as the creation of better conditions to support sporting, training and recreational activities. ARCOR also commits to ensuring the opening of the facilities to the public, contributing to improve the reception conditions for visitors and sporting practitioners.
The association also plans to reinforce the development of training for children and young people in the nautical modalities it develops, promoting sporting initiation, healthy lifestyles, values associated with sporting practice and contact with nature.
