The new Quaest poll, released on Wednesday (2) and commissioned by newspaper O Globo and Globo, shows writer Augusto Cury (Avante) in third place in the presidential election, with 10% of voting intentions, an eight-point growth compared to the last survey from August 14. In the first round, incumbent president and candidate for re-election Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) leads with 37%, followed by Flavío Bolsonaro (PL) with 30%.
The significant growth of Augusto Cury occurs after the start of free electoral advertising. The poll indicates that there were no significant changes in the percentages of undecided voters and blank votes compared to the August survey.
Journalist and commentator at CBN, Pedro Doria, evaluates that the electorate is experimenting with new options. The considerable increase in Cury, without changes in the undecided rates, suggests that part of the voters is migrating to the Avante candidate in search of alternatives to the main names in the presidential race.
