Begoña Gómez, wife of the president of the Spanish Government, was summoned to testify as a defendant on October 23 before Judge Juan Calvo in Majadahonda, Madrid. The summons comes as a result of a criminal action filed against her by agitator Vito Quiles, who accused her of false accusation.
The case originated from an incident that occurred inside a cafeteria in that town, where Gómez was with a group of friends. It was in this context that the wife of the president of the Spanish Government filed a first complaint against Quiles.
However, that initial complaint was dismissed by another judge in the same municipality. After that dismissal, Quiles decided to take the initiative and file a criminal action against Gómez, accusing her of having made a false accusation against him.
The proceedings are now underway in the courts of Majadahonda, where Begoña Gómez will have to testify on October 23 before Judge Juan Calvo, who will be responsible for deciding the next steps in this legal dispute.
