The Public Prosecution Service is investigating the derailment of the Glória funicular, in Lisbon, which caused 16 deaths a year ago. The MP's investigation is independent from the one being conducted by the Bureau for the Prevention and Investigation of Aircraft Accidents and Railway Accidents, known by the acronym GPIAAF. The Public Prosecution Service stated today, through a press release, that its investigation awaits the conclusion of technical tests and expert examinations, which are expected for next November. The accident occurred approximately a year ago and authorities continue to work to determine the causes of the derailment of the historic elevator in the Portuguese capital.
