Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) corrected the information initially reported about the opening of the Eastern Variant of Évora, integrated into IP2. The road infrastructure will open to traffic on Thursday, September 3, and not on Wednesday, September 2, as had been initially indicated by IP itself on its official page.
The confirmation was made by IP to Rádio Campanário, which contacted the entity to clarify the correct opening date of the new variant.
The Eastern Variant of Évora is part of the set of latest road works completed under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), being part of the investment aimed at completing missing connections and increasing the capacity of the national road network.
IP highlighted that the completion of these works allowed the target established in the PRR for the construction or upgrading of roads to be exceeded. While the completion of at least 111 kilometres was planned by August 31, IP reached 154 kilometres, with the Eastern Variant of Évora appearing among the projects that mark the final phase of execution of the road investments financed by the PRR.
