Viseu wants to bring together companies, universities, and municipalities around the same table to transform ideas into projects

Notícias de Coimbra2 September 2026 at 14:55

Viseu wants to bring together companies, universities, and municipalities around the same table to transform ideas into concrete projects. The objective is to create a collaboration platform between these three sectors to take advantage of the knowledge and investment capacity that exist scattered throughout the territory.

The initiative arises from the observation that there is a lot of dispersed potential, including innovative ideas, scientific knowledge, and financial resources, which are not yet being fully utilized.

The main challenge identified is bringing together all these elements and making them work together efficiently. The Viseu city council is leading this attempt to create bridges between the different stakeholders in the regional ecosystem.

This strategy aims to boost the local economy through coordination between the business sector, the academic sector, and the municipal public administration, enhancing projects that otherwise might never get off the ground.
