Douro Wine Growers Protest Amid Crisis in the Region

Wine growers from the Douro region are protesting due to a crisis affecting the area. The demonstration is taking place precisely during the most intense period of the harvest, when producers should be dedicated to picking the grapes.

The situation is particularly serious for some producers who still do not know who to sell their grapes to. This commercial uncertainty is causing great concern among wine growers in the Duriense region.

Joaquim Monteiro, representative of the Association Fight for the Douro, stated that the protests carried out were intended to serve as an alert to the crisis that the region is going through. The association has been defending the interests of local producers in view of the difficulties they face.
