JinkoSolar celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, marking two decades of activity dedicated to accelerating the global transition to clean energy. Founded with the vision of promoting continuous innovation and technological excellence, the company has evolved to become one of the world's leading providers of clean energy technology, serving customers in over 200 countries and regions. Over these two decades, the solar industry has faced varied market cycles, rapid technological advances and phases of remarkable growth, periods during which JinkoSolar maintained its commitment to investment in research and development, advanced manufacturing and long-term customer relationships.
Frank Niendorf, Vice President of JinkoSolar Europe, attributes the company's success to long-term commitment and continuous innovation, noting that companies that continue to invest during the toughest periods are the ones that emerge stronger. Although the global photovoltaic market is currently in the third consecutive year of industry consolidation, with module prices stabilized after a prolonged decline and high competitive pressure, Niendorf remains confident in the future. The company expects market conditions to remain relatively stable until 2027, forecasting that from 2028 onwards, electrification, rising electricity demand, digitalization and investments in data centers driven by artificial intelligence will create new momentum for solar energy, particularly in Europe.
Innovation has been a central characteristic of JinkoSolar, with approximately five percent of annual revenue reinvested in research and development. The company presented its latest Tiger Neo 3.0 technology at Intersolar Europe 2026, including a 760 W module for large-scale projects, having shortly before launched the Tiger Neo 5.0 platform during SNEC in Shanghai. JinkoSolar is also developing silicon-perovskite tandem technology, which it expects to make commercially viable in the coming years.
Over the past few years, JinkoSolar has transformed from a photovoltaic module manufacturer into an integrated energy solutions provider, combining solar modules, battery energy storage systems and intelligent energy management technologies. Its strategic expansion into energy storage, initiated in 2022, has enabled the company to offer solutions for residential, commercial, industrial and large-scale applications, supported by its own battery cell production capacity of 12 GWh and proprietary energy management software. According to Niendorf, approximately 90% of the company's utility-scale projects currently combine photovoltaic generation with battery storage, reflecting the growing importance of hybrid renewable energy systems.
