Lula leads Quaest in the 1st round with 37%, against 30% by Bolsonaro; Cury reaches 10%

The first Quaest poll after the start of electoral propaganda on TV and radio shows President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with 37% of voting intentions in the first-round simulation. The survey was commissioned by the newspaper O GLOBO and Globo and was released this Wednesday.

Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) appears next with 30% of voting intentions, staying 7 percentage points behind Lula. Writer Augusto Cury (Avante) grew significantly, numerically surpassing the other candidates and is in third place with 10%.

The percentages refer to the scenario tested by Quaest that includes Pablo Marçal, whose candidacy is being questioned at the Electoral Court. Marçal was sentenced to ineligibility for eight years following the improper use of communication media during the 2024 electoral campaign.

Augusto Cury registered an expressive growth of 8 percentage points compared to the previous survey, released on August 14. The poll also indicates that Lula's government approval remains stable after the fallout from the Lulinha case.
