Jornal Económico2 September 2026 at 14:16

Bright Pixel Capital, the technology investment arm of Portuguese group Sonae, participated in a 27 million dollar (23 million euro) Series A funding round in cybersecurity company Huskeys. The round was led by Blackstone Innovations Investments and also included participation from Merlin Ventures, Skinos Ventures, Zscaler Ventures, Okta Ventures and SV Angel, as well as individual investors and executives from companies such as Palo Alto Networks, Cloudflare, Check Point, AWS, Google, Microsoft and Intel. With this funding, Huskeys brings its total capital raised to 35 million dollars, after a seed round of eight million dollars.

Huskeys develops a Network Edge Security Management (NESM) platform that allows organizations to manage in an integrated manner the security of digital infrastructures that combine different cloud providers, content delivery networks, Web Application Firewalls and other security services. The solution works on top of existing technology infrastructure, allowing security policies to be adjusted without replacing installed systems. The company currently analyzes more than one billion web requests per day and thousands of network configurations in organizations across different geographies.

The company counts among its clients companies such as TikTok, LEGOLAND, Ro, Blackstone and Hugging Face. The growth in the use of multiple technology vendors is increasing the fragmentation of digital infrastructures, while artificial intelligence introduces new challenges for security teams. Huskeys predicts that non-human traffic will represent approximately 70% of web traffic by 2027.

Marcos de Castro Osório, director at Bright Pixel Capital, stated he is pleased to support the team in this new phase of growth. According to Huskeys CEO and cofounder Itai Gafni, the funding will enable the acceleration of platform development and strengthen dynamic security management and adaptation capabilities, including the response to new forms of traffic and threats associated with artificial intelligence. Bright Pixel Capital has more than 50 direct investments in technology companies in the areas of cybersecurity, infrastructure software and emerging technologies.
