Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) said he, together with allies, asked the United States government to resume sanctions under the Magnitsky Act against Supreme Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The statement was made in an interview with UOL News.
The request comes after the release of new conversations and messages exchanged between Moraes and banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master. The messages reportedly detailed how Vorcaro turned to Moraes to bypass investigations.
According to Eduardo Bolsonaro, the new information exposes a financial relationship involving Moraes and his family members, as well as requests for "protection" made to other authorities. Eduardo said his work in the US is to give an opinion when consulted, and that he is an enthusiast for the return of the Magnitsky Act because he considers there to be "human rights abuses."
