Three spin-off companies from i3S Institute — Fetalix, GOTECH Antimicrobial and SecretomeDx — will join the first edition of the EIC Pre-Accelerator programme, from the European Innovation Council. This programme is funded by Horizon Europe and aims to support startups and small companies in early stages of development.
The three companies managed to secure over 1.3 million euros in European funding. This amount will be crucial to boost their research and innovation activities in the health and biomedical technology sector.
The participation of the three companies in this programme represents recognition of the quality of the research developed at i3S and the potential of its spin-offs to reach the market. The EIC Pre-Accelerator is known for selecting projects with high growth potential and impact.
Among the co-founders mentioned are Inês Gonçalves, from GOTECH Antimicrobial, and Joana Caldeira, from Fetalix. The programme is now launching with its first edition, positioning these Portuguese companies in the European innovation landscape.
