The Socialist Party is demanding greater transparency from the Government in defining the six strategic business areas announced to receive large investments, with particular attention to the two infrastructures planned for the North of the country.
PS deputies directed a question to the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion in which they request to know the technical, environmental, logistical and infrastructure criteria that will determine the choice of locations for these areas.
PS also questions what role the CCDRs, municipalities and intermunicipal communities will play in the process, specifically regarding the possibility of submitting applications, the expected timeline and mechanisms to guarantee equality between territories. The socialists also request clarification on financing, the estimated total investment and the division of responsibilities between the State and local authorities.
For PS, the location of the two business areas planned for the North may have an impact on attracting investment and the region's competitiveness, which is why the party argues that decisions should be based on objective, public and previously defined criteria.
