More and more families are seeking help to pay rent

SIC Notícias2 September 2026 at 13:19

The number of families seeking support to pay rent has been increasing. This situation reflects the growing financial difficulty faced by many people in accessing housing.

Rent prices are expected to rise again next year, which will further worsen the situation for many families. The pressure is particularly felt in major cities, where the cost of living is higher.

As a result, an increasing portion of household income is allocated to housing expenses, leaving fewer resources available for other basic needs.
