Last Monday, 31 August, the Caminha Municipal Council delivered participation certificates to the young people who joined the Municipal Youth Summer Program 2026. This was a pilot initiative aimed at young residents of the municipality aged between 16 and 18.
The program had as its main objective the promotion of the use of free time during the summer school break, allowing young people to temporarily join different municipal services. Participants were able to get close contact with how local administration works and contribute to activities of public interest.
During their participation, the young people were involved in tasks of a technical, administrative, social, cultural, recreational and leisure nature at various municipal facilities, including the Municipal Library, the Tourist Office and the Museum.
The Municipality of Caminha intends to continue the program, considering it a relevant tool for stimulating values among young people and promoting their active participation as citizens.
