The data was revealed through a response from the Regional Government to a requirement submitted by the Chega party. The political party requested information about costs associated with alcoholism within the regional health system.

This value represents the investment made by the Regional Health Service to treat and monitor patients affected by excessive alcohol consumption during the five-year period covered by the document.

The information comes in a context where the Chega party has been requesting data on various public health issues in the region, seeking to demonstrate the financial impact of certain pathologies and behaviors on the regional health system.
