Spanish service stations are defending themselves against doubts about whether the new fuel discounts are really being applied and what the impact is on the final price paid by drivers. The business association CEEES, which represents around 4,000 service stations in Spain (one third of the total), states that companies have been fully applying since September 1 the new exceptional rates of the special hydrocarbon tax approved by the Government. However, they warn that these discounts are still not fully felt in the final price that customers pay when refueling.
